Description

High-molecular heterogeneous aromatic hydroxy-carboxylate; black granules and powder. Modified polymer compound with large inner specific surface area and strong adsorption & hydration capacity. Adsorbs onto clay-particle surfaces to build thin, tough filter cake on borehole wall, reduce fluid loss and protect shale from mud filtrate erosion. Colloidal humate particles and asphalt fractions penetrate shale fractures to inhibit formation mud-making and stabilize wellbore. For water-based drilling-fluid systems; functions as thinner and fluid-loss reducer, thermal resistance >180 °C.

Characteristics declared for the product and stated conditions. Selection and performance subject to technical evaluation of the fluid system.

Appearance

Black / brownish-black free-flowing powder.

Main Advantages

  • Drilling-fluid additive inhibiting shale hydration-dispersion and formation mud-making while stabilizing borehole.
  • Provides thinning and filtration-control.
  • Suitable for all water-based mud systems, especially fresh-water mud.
