Solid Lubricant for Drilling Fluid (Graphite-Type) (RH-2)

Lubricants
Family: Graphite-Type Solid Lubricant (RH-2) Code: RH-2 Product last updated: January 2026

Supply evaluation upon request — Legal Notice & Commercial Scope

Description

Novel powdered solid lubricant compounded from natural mineral and surfactant. Overcomes limitations of plastic beads in directional-drilling tool clearances and compensates deficiencies of liquid lubricants & bead-type solids. Widely used for directional and horizontal-well drilling-fluids for key lubrication effect.

Characteristics declared for the product and stated conditions. Selection and performance subject to technical evaluation of the fluid system.

Appearance

Black / grey-black solid.

Main Advantages

  • Outstanding lubricity and resilience: reduces friction & torque and prevents pipe sticking under heavy contact in directional / cluster wells.
  • Natural-mineral structure provides lost-circulation sealing and borehole-wall reinforcement.
  • Strong plugging capacity.
  • Non-fluorescent; per the manufacturer's documentation, non-toxic and non-corrosive. For safety determinations, consult the applicable SDS.
  • Improves mud properties: reduces viscosity, filtrate loss and optimizes filter cake.
  • High temperature-resistance (>180 °C).

Technical note: Density (1.8–2.2 g/cm³) corresponds to the solid product, not the apparent bulk density of the powder. Lubrication-coefficient reduction is reported separately at ambient temperature and after 16 h hot-rolling at 150 °C; these must not be combined.

Application

Normal dosage 1%–3%; for plugging 3%–5%.

Dosage Guidance

Normal: 1%–3%; for plugging: 3%–5%.

Indicative range from technical documentation. Final dosage requires testing and evaluation of the fluid system.

Packaging & Storage

3-in-1 composite bags, PE inner liner, net 25 kg/bag. Cool dry ventilated storage.
