Description
Sulfonated phenolic resin SMP-II is anionic water-soluble polyelectrolyte, high-temperature-salt-resistant drilling-fluid fluid-loss reducer. Combined with sulfonated lignite, sulfonated tannin and sulfonated asphalt to formulate "tri-sulfonated" mud system for high-temperature deep-well operations.
Appearance
Free-flowing powder.
Properties
Sulfonate groups are grafted onto benzene rings linked by carbon-carbon bonds for high-temperature resistance. Sodium sulfonate groups on ortho-para positions of phenolic hydroxyl provide strong hydration and high bond energy for water solubility, salt-resistance, calcium-resistance and HT-HP fluid-loss reduction.
